Another Sack Coming As President Buhari May Fire CBN Governor ‘Any Moment From Now’

Another high profile sack looms as an exclusive report reveal that President Muhammadu Buhari is set to make yet another shake-off of his cabinet in a bid to rescue the dwindling economy.
Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Godwin Emefiele, may be the next top profile government official to lose his job, Ripples can authoritatively confirm.
Top presidential aides confided on Monday that the dragnet is drawing closer to Emefiele, who was appointed as head of the nation’s apex bank by former President Goodluck Jonathan on June 3, 2014.
Emefiele replaced Mallam Lamido Sanusi, the Emir of Kano, who was controversially suspended and fired by Jonathan for alleged insubordination.
But the CBN chief has been in the eye of the storm lately following revelations that the nation’s treasury was practically emptied to fund the failed re-election bid of Jonathan in 2015.
Emefiele, investigators alleged, granted government officials unfettered access to the treasury during the electioneering period and even printed new currencies when the vault was drained.
Many people expected President Muhammadu Buhari to have fired the bank’s chief following his alleged involvement in the infamous Dansukigate scandal, but a top presidential aide said Buhari decided otherwise, to strike at the best time.
“What people don’t know is that the President has made up his mind Emefiele must go. But he only wants to do it at the best time. He believes he should get as much information as possible from the CBN chief before dispensing with him. If he just sacks him, it will not benefit the nation.”
Another source said the presidential briefing has unveiled many shocking revelations that beat the imagination of Buhari.
“Without going into details, Emefiele has told the President how the treasury was looted. He mentioned names, figures and details. Of course, he exonerated himself, saying he was just acting on instructions. But he is a goner as far as the President is concerned.”
Matters have not been helped by the down plunge of the nation’s currency, the naira, which continues to drop exchanging for N345 to the dollar at the parallel market as at Monday, with the apex bank seemingly helpless with the country’s foreign reserve having been plundered.
Though Emefiele’s appointment is for a five-year renewable tenure that ends in 2019, it was learnt that Buhari is determined to have a complete economic team to fix the nation’s dwindling economic fortunes.
Emefiele, it was gathered, is the only puzzle the President has to remove to have his complete economic team. Besides, sources said the President has prioritised immediate resuscitation of the ailing economy as topmost in the next one year.
It is believed that Monday’s sack of 26 Director Generals of parastatals, Ministries, Departments and Agencies(MDAs) of government was informed by the need to overhaul the economic machinery of the government, most of which was inherited from Jonathan.
Also, the sack on Monday of the Director General of the Budget Office, Yahaya Gusau, who was appointed less than six months ago signposts the resolve of Buhari to have a firmer grip on the economy.
A source privy to the arrangement said: “The President is concerned the economy is completely gone. He wants to revive it and the CBN is critical to this.
“I mean no government can deliver the economy with the Central Bank in good hands. Emefiele has served his usefulness and will get the boot any moment from now.”
Asked if the President will not be breaching the law by sacking Emefiele, who is three years away from his five-year tenure, the source said: “Every appointment and sack is at the discretion of the President.
“Will he have to wait till 2019 before salvaging the economy because of someone’s tenure? Nigerians are fed up with the economic hardship and the President has to do the needful in the best interests of the nation.”
It was further learnt that Buhari has been under immense pressure to dispense with Emefiele, who is believed to be Jonathan’s man to pave way for the emergence of someone friendly to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Many party chieftains have impressed on the President that the parlous state of the economy, particularly the dramatic slide of the naira were due to CBN’s failure to implement government policies effectively.
Buhari was said to have resisted the pressure to guard against having a politically-exposed person as CBN’s helmsman. Yet, he is said to have sanctioned the sack of Emefiele, which is expected to become public knowledge ‘any moment from now’.

Chelsea Midfielder, Mikel Obi Talks About Champions League Goal And Team’s Loss

John Mikel Obi who got on the score sheet for the Blues yesterday night has expressed mixed reactions about the UCL showdown.
Super Eagles and Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has expressed disappointment over his side’s defeat to Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday in a UEFA Champions League round of 16 first leg tie.
An Ibrahimovic free kick had gone off Mikel to put the hosts ahead but the Super Eagles player leveled scores just before half time. Edison Cavani came on the the last stage of the game to give PSG the winner.
Speaking to BT Sports after the game, Mikel said the team was disappointed.
“They got the first goal, it was a deflection. I had to fall in because he [Lucas] was going deeper and deeper into our 18-yard box. And then the free kick as well just skipped off my feet and went into the back of the net.
“But we came back strong as well, but we’re very disappointed to have lost the game. We know they’re a very good team. Our aim was to come out here and get a goal and we’ve done that tonight. We still have the second leg to play back home, so we have to take that back home and capitalise on that and make sure we build on that.
“We are very disappointed with losing the game, i thought we did very well, played very well and defended very well when we had to. I’m so very disappointed to have lost the game.” Mikel told BT Sport

Meet The Woman That Rejected President Buhari’s Appointment

How about rejecting a presidential appointment? Well, a strong supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari, Najatu Muhammad, just did that.
She rejected her appointment as the chairperson of the governing council of the Federal University, Dutse (FUD).
The Northern activist, who is also an associate of the wife of the President, Aisha Buhari, in a quarter-page newspaper advert published by a National Newspaper, rejected the appointment, stressing that she was not consulted.
She claimed her appointment was made through newspaper and was constrained to make the rejection via the same medium. However, she pledged her continued support for Buhari and his administration.
The advert reads:-
I, Najatu Muhammad, wishes to thank you so much for considering me worthy of being appointed the chairperson of Dutse Federal University. It’s however, unfortunate that I was not consulted before the announcement in the media. I also regret that I have to use the same medium to announce that I can’t accept the appointment for some personal reasons.
I will however remain an ardent supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari in his effort in charting a new course for this country. A course that we pray will put this country back on the path of progress.
I will also continue to support the presidents fight against corruption and other ills of this country. My unflinching support for the President will remain for Allah’s sake and country.
I pray that Allah will continue to guide and protect our President.

See New Dates And Schedules For JAMB UTME 2016/2017

This year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination will begin on February 29, the authorities of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board have announced.
Over one million candidates will sit for examination, which the board said, would last for seven days.
JAMB’s Head of Public Relations, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, who confirmed this in an interview with one of our correspondents on Tuesday, added the board would use about 500 Internet-complaint centres in the country for the Computer-based Test.
The examination, he added, would hold in seven other centres outside Nigeria.
According to him, the centres are in the United Kingdom, Ghana, Cameroon, Republic of Benin, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and Ethiopia.
The board, earlier, in a statement, on Tuesday, urged candidates to print their examination notification from February 18, noting that it had completed arrangements for a smooth conduct of the test.
It added:-
“Candidates are urged to print their examination notification from Thursday, February 18, 2016 for the schedules of their examination. The notification contains their date, time of examination and venue. Candidates are to adhere strictly by these schedules, as there will be no rescheduling of any examination if a candidate misses his/her date or time of examination.”
“They are to be in their various centres 30 minutes before their time. Again candidates are advised to check their schedules properly as JAMB will not condone any excuse in the event of candidate missing his or her time and date of examination.
“Candidates are to also note that they can visit JAMB accredited Computer-Based Centre or any cybercafé to print their slip or any place of their choice. It could be done at their homes.”
In the 2015 UTME, no fewer than 1.5million candidates sat for the examination in about 400 centres.
The exercise, which experienced initial technical challenges, lasted for 10 days

Interesting!!! Netflix Now Available In Nigeria

Netflix CEO, and Co-founder Reed Hastings has just announced the availability of Netflix in a bunch of new countries across the world, including Nigeria.
Hastings made the announcement during his presentation at CES just a few minutes ago. Besides announcing availability in the new countries, he also announced that Netflix was planning to release over 600 hours of original content in 2016.
Netflix is a provider of on-demand Internet streaming media. The company was established in 1997 and is headquartered in Los Gatos, California. It started its subscription-based service in 1999.
Starting right now, users in Nigeria can head to Netflix and for $8 a month (~N1600 or N2080 depending on where you’re getting your dollars from) get a huge collection of movies, shows and documentaries provided that your internet is good. At this moment, I should point out that content may vary from location to location thanks to licensing deals. That said, if you have been looking for an alternative to DSTV, this is a pretty good one.
New users on the service get a free month’s subscription by the way…so…Netflix and Chill anyone?

Six Things To Do While Waiting For A Job In Nigeria (A Must Read)

The rate of unemployment is increasing by the day, to capture the attention of your future employers therefore; you have to do things differently to distinguish yourself from the crowd.
As a young school leaver/ job seeker in Nigeria, there are several things you can do to boost your skills, maximize your strengths and prepare yourself adequately for the job market.
Here are a couple of tips that have worked for others over time:
Invest in yourself by attending relevant courses and trainings: Lots of people say that trainings and courses in Nigeria are expensive but a quick search on Google or just taking time out to nake enquiries in some training instuites will show you free courses and trainings within your neighborhood that are geared towards making you more “employable”, helping you acquire more skills and giving you an edge over other job seekers.
Volunteer or do a free internship: While waiting to land the dream job, strategic volunteering increases your chances at getting employed. Unemployed Journalist? Volunteer to a local media house. You can also offer pro bono services to NGO’s to ensure that your skills are up-to-date.
Network and Optimize your Circle of influence: If you have worked before, this is the time to pull out your diary and get in touch with ex-clients, ex- partners, internship supervisors and ex-colleagues and spread the word about your search for a job.
As a young school leaver however, you can speak to your friends and those within your social circle; church groups, gyms, online forums, e.t.c. You will be surprised that someone may just have the perfect job for you.
Also attend events sponsored by your alumni, go to lectures and relevant events organized for your industry. These events are perfect for meeting future employers and also exchanging ideas with people of like-mind.
Freelance: In this age of the internet, you can stay home and earn a living. So how about offering your skills on some freelance websites? Freelancing will increase your experience, skill, resume, income and self-confidence.
Build an online presence: How about using the online platforms like Facebook and Blogs to talk about your passion?
LinkedIn is also a great platform for networking, meeting future employers of labor and decision makers. So create a profile there, include important keywords you want to be seen for, include your portfolio/skill set/education, then connect and engage human resource personnel and decision makers in organizations you want to work for.
Take Care of yourself: Job-hunting can be tiring and draining as long hours are put into searching and applying for suitable positions; it’s advisable that you take some time out and focus on what you love doing.
Be it singing, dancing, going to see a new movie, or just hanging out with supportive friends. Exercising it also a good way of ensuring that you stay healthy, positive and determined.
Entrepreneurship: You can also be your own BOSS by going into business whether small scale or big depending on your capital,by this you dont have to answer to anyone. Develop Your Ideas For Services That Will Be Desperately Needed In The Future.
N.B. And most importantly na Baba God sure pass,so pray for connection, trust him and wait on him till his favor shines through you.
And I believe God will favor us and provide Jobs for everyone searching for job this year IJN.
Dont lose hope, believe…

Return Me To My Former Shape Before A Divorce -wife tells husband

court
A 35-year-old woman, Basirat Alatise, whose husband, Morufu Alatise, 48, sought a dissolution of their marriage at the Agboyi/Ketu Customary Court in Lagos State, caused a mild drama when she bluntly refused to agree to the divorce, saying that the only condition she would accept the break up is if the husband could restore her to the state he met her so that she could be attractive to a man if she is willing to get married again.
Morufu had petitioned the court to dissolve the three-year-old marriage on the grounds that there is no more love as well as destruction of his property, constant embarrassment in public and show of wickedness but his wife insisted he must get her back to the state he met her or he would be stuck with her for life.
Morufu told the court that he met Basirat at a carnival and liked her and then decided to marry her; he said he met her mum who gave her approval and they got married.
According to him, he told Basirat that he had another woman who had a child for him and she accepted arrangement but that when she packed into his house, she proved to be stubborn, fighting the mother of his child whenever she came to visit, often fighting the woman, embarrassing him in the process. He added that his wife even got to the point of getting him arrested and locking him up in a police cell several times.
But when the court asked the wife if she also wanted the divorce, Basirat said she was against it and would never agree to it unless Morufu made her to go back to how she was.
“When I met my husband, he never told me he was married. My relatives though, were asking me how a man in his forties would not be married; that it is better we investigate and know why he is not yet married all these years.
It was then that we discovered that he already has a wife and when I confronted him, he said that the wife he married died. After a while we discovered it was a lie, that the wife is alive and I became friends with her.
After a while, we then discovered that he now has another girlfriend he was secretly seeing and the lady comes to his office which is in our house to come visit him. It was very embarrassing for me and I confronted him and he told the lady to beat me up.
We fought and the lady tore my clothes and I immediately went to report at the police station and he was arrested and put in cell because he refused to produce the lady who fought me but I eventually bailed him.
I still forgave him but he still brings the new girlfriend to his office which my father gave him. I couldn’t take it anymore, so I usually harass him so that he would know that I am not happy with his attitude and he still continued and had the audacity to say he wants divorce.
I will never accept any divorce except he has the power to take me back to the position he met me before I got pregnant; return all the money I have spent, otherwise, this our marriage is until death do us part.”

in-bottom: 10px; padding: 0px;"> The singer, recently sat down for an interview with TVCconnect where she talked about a lot of things to include her son and career.
When asked about how she felt when it became clear she had been replaced as the queen bee in the music industry while on maternity leave, she replied:
“I don’t think I was really bothered. I know how entertainment is and sometimes you need that kind of news so I didn’t take it personally and I wasn’t really moved by it because when you’re having a baby that’s one of the biggest joys that you can ever ever imagine.”
Tiwa, also talked about her comeback, stating her number one priority.
“My priority was just to make sure that I was healthy and that my baby was healthy and that we had a safe delivery. So at that time I was taking time away from music and I knew I had to take time off but my focus was really my baby…and I had worked while I was pregnant. I had recorded my album so I also knew that I had something when I was going to come back and I was going straight back into work. Those Who Stole From Nigeria Have Newspapers, Radio & TV Stations – Lai Mohammed -

The Federal Government says it is aware that those who mismanaged the wealth of the country have been using their influence to frustrate its anti-corruption campaign.
Speaking in Lagos on Sunday, The Minister of Information and Culture Alhaji Lai Mohammed said “Let me remind you, gentlemen, that radicalisation is a key causative factor of terrorism…
‘We know that those who stole us dry are powerful. They have newspapers, radio and television stations and an army of supporters to continuously deride the government’s war against corruption.”
He said the current administration would not be discouraged by the ploy of its opponents, describing as an incentive, the commendation which US secretary of state Mr. John Kerry, gave to President Muhammadu Buhari on his anti-graft fight, Mohammed said the battle must be won for the nation to achieve sustainable growth.
At a speech delivered during the just-concluded World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, Kerry lauded the current administration. Mohammed said he would soon kick-start a series of town hall meetings across the country to take the sensitisation campaign, which he launched in Abuja last Monday, directly to Nigerians.
”The federal government is delighted that the anti-corruption war being led by President Muhammadu Buhari has been acknowledged and applauded on a global stage,” he said.
”It is particularly gratifying that in that speech, Mr Kerry made the link between corruption and terrorism. We agree that corruption is indeed a radicaliser because it destroys faith in legitimate authority. “Let me remind you, gentlemen, that radicalisation is a key causative factor of terrorism… ‘We know that those who stole us dry are powerful.
They have newspapers, radio and television stations and an army of supporters to continuously deride the government’s war against corruption.
“But we are undaunted and will not relent until corruption is also decimated.” Mohammed said corruption was responsible for the endemic poverty in the country, noting that whereas Nigeria’s national budget has increased from just over N900 billion in 1999 to over N6 trillion in 2016, poverty has also increased almost by the same proportion. “The reason is not far-fetched: Appropriated funds have mostly ended up in the pockets of a few looters,” he said.
”When the money meant to construct roads is looted, the end result is that the roads are not built and the people suffer and even die in avoidable road accidents.
When the money meant to provide electricity is looted, we all are perpetually sentenced to darkness. When the money meant for healthcare is pocketed by a few, we are unable to reduce maternal and infant mortality.
These are the costs of corruption.” He faulted the view that the government was dwelling too much on the war against corruption to the detriment of other areas of governance. “The situation is very grim indeed, as far as corruption is concerned.
That is why the federal government is embarking on this sensitisation Campaign,” he said. “Our approach – which is to count the cost of corruption – is not to vilify anyone but to use facts and figures to give Nigerians a sense of what corruption has done to their lives

UNILAG engineering students built an electric car from scratch see photo

3331238_car
A group of Mechanical Engineering students from the University of Lagos have built an electric-powered car from scratch, using locally sourced materials.
The project, which began in 2014, was initiated by two engineering graduates (then undergrads), Olukoya Olusanya and Maduka Smart, who later enlisted the help of other mechanical engineering students.
The result of the collaboration was a zero emission electric powered prototype vehicle called dubbed the DOVE P1.
The DOVE P1, which is made of a fibre glass body, weighs in at about 200kg and is capable of speeds of up to 35 km/h.
While one would question the viability an electric car in a nation that struggles with reliable power supply.
“Cars are going electric”, said team lead Olukoya Olusanya in an interview with CCTV News,
“and I believe that in the next 15 years, more than half of all cars sold around the world will be either partially electric or fully electric”.
These are quite bold statements. All around the developed world, electric cars continue to struggle to get mass adoption.
Their high cost, limited range do not help their cause much, even in developing nations where power is not a problem.
Nevertheless, Project Dove (as the team is called) remains confident that electric cars are the future.
They have launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise $25,000 towards replicating the technology at other Universities all around Nigeria.

Lassa Fever: 4,400 Rats Killed in 6 markets in lagos state

The Environmental Health Officers Association of Nigeria (EHOAN), Lagos State chapter, on Monday, said that it killed no fewer than 4,400 rats at six major markets in the state under its de-rat market programme. Its president, Mr Samuel Akingbehin, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that his association carried out the exercise at Onigongbo, Oshodi, Oke-Odo, Ikotun Idanwo, Ojuwoye and Mile 12 markets. He said that de-rating the markets was part of the association’s efforts to curb the spread of Lassa fever in the state. “The exercise is strategic in our efforts toward the prevention of communicable diseases,” he said. Akingbehin appealed to traders from across the state to show an understanding towards the efforts of the association to rid the markets of rats and rodents. He said that the plan was to de-rat markets in one local government area per day starting from 5.00 p.m. The association decided on this time to allow traders and buyers transact their legitimate businesses. “We also decided to put the exercise in the evening due to the nocturnal nature of rodents and our members had recorded successes in the markets visited till date. “It took us about three hours to cover the Oshodi market when our members went there for the exercise. Today, Monday, we will be visiting Suru-Alaba Market in Orile-Ifelodun LCDA by 5.00 p.m. with about 400 EHOs to de-rat it. “We are still calling on all other executive secretaries of the local government areas to assist us toward the elimination of rodents in our markets and our environments,” he said.

EXCLUSIVE TO LOADEDVIBES: why I refused to sign Ola dips into YBNL- olamide speaks

Guess you all know Ola Dips has been Signed to Reminisce’s record label, LRR/EDGE Records. Read HERE
OlaDips dropped back to back hit singles and was featured in so many tracks last year under Ob9ja management,  It was glaring that he had caught the affection of so many Label Bosses, Including the YBNL Label boss.
As a matter of fact, a good questionnaire would have predicted Olamide signing Ola dips. The big question is what went wrong with nature?.
After weeks and months of silence the YBNL C.E.O, Olamide confirms his admiration for the young rapper, but insists he would love some competition, He further noted that He shares almost the same style with “Chinko Ekun“, with just a little difference, It would be hard branding Oladips as a YBNL Artiste because it would implicate that one of them changes style. Quite reasonable from Olamide, He’s not only and artiste but also a business man that understands branding andthe elements of marketing.
He further stresses that Oladips can always stake a competition and keep other young rappers on their toes, If he’s signed to YBNL, YBNL might enjoy a monotony and Oladips might not be able to live up to his full potential because of lack of competition.
Above all The YBNL Boss wishes him well and hopes he enjoys a successful career at LRR/EDGE Records
